Jesse Willems
Albatros

Albatros, Jesse Willems at Huis Cabuy

From 8 to 16 November, Huis Cabuy opens its doors to Jesse Willems for a two-week solo exhibition, Albatros.

In this new body of work, Willems deepens his exploration of attention and transformation. His gaze lingers where most would look away, on the overlooked fragment, the accidental shadow, the quiet geometry of the everyday. Through collage and composition, these moments take flight, becoming something both fragile and enduring.

At Huis Cabuy, the modernist villa designed by Jos Chabot, the exhibition finds its natural habitat. The play of light, glass, and structure echoes the artist’s layered sensibility, forming a dialogue between form and feeling, between house and inhabitant.

“It’s evolution, not revolution,” Willems says.
And Albatros is precisely that: a slow unfolding, an invitation to see differently, to linger, to drift, to choose the shadow.

For 14 days, you're welcome to visit during opening hours or by appointment.

“Every line is deliberate, each barb intended. because barbs are what make things compelling. His collages live on barbs. His photographs live on his collages. Everything needs everything.”
