Renée Lorie I thought we would eat with golden spoons
I Thought We Would Eat with Golden Spoons (2025) is a photographic project by Renée Lorie, commissioned by the City of Uccle and developed during a residency at GC Het Huys. Starting from a participatory process in affluent neighbourhoods, Lorie examines the distance between social classes and the often invisible boundaries that result from it. The images depict encounters, absences and everyday scenes in which attempts at connection, silence and resistance coexist. What began as an invitation to dialogue evolved into a visual inquiry into growing inequality, effort, and the fragility of human connection.
